In a statement on their website on 23rd December 2020, the UK company announced that ''it has entered into an agreement with The Sage Group plc to purchase its businesses in Australia and Asia.'' The acquisition excludes Sage global products.

Commenting on today’s announcements, Chris Bayne, CEO of The Access Group, shared the company's vision to "expand their global footprint'' and have plans to enhance the growth of the acquired products including further development to deliver full Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions on Access Workspaces. Furthermore, Sage APAC products that are acquired will have deep integration with Access Workspace, and will continue alongside Access’ flagship FMS and payroll solutions.(Read the full announcement here)

The transaction, which is subject to approval by the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB), is expected to complete in the next six months. Further information will be released on completion.

The Access Group is a software consultancy and developer company that provides fully integrated business management software. Some of it's flagship products include business management software such as Access Workspaces.

This acquisition comes at a time of market upheaval and uncertainty with software support and continuity being key concerns to existing users. While the next 6 months will be a very interesting watch, one thing is for certain, change is inevitable.
